Excellent will be at IMTS 2022 (booth 133354) to showcase its recently filed Excellerant collaborative manufacturing platform.
“In a nutshell, the platform is designed to measure and improve shop floor performance by automatically collecting shop floor data and providing tools to visualize and optimize production,” said John Carpenter, Founder and President of Excellent.
The pillars of the Excellerant collaborative manufacturing platform include real-time machine data and contextualized operator data. It unifies all manufacturing devices into a secure network that meets most cybersecurity standards, such as the DoD’s CMMC mandate. The company’s proven hardware automatically captures uptime, part counts, and cycle times for modern and legacy machine tools. Since variations can affect manufacturing productivity, context is needed to fully understand what is happening on the shop floor. This downtime information is relayed quickly and easily by operators using simple reason codes on a tablet-optimized software interface.
Synchronization with a store’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is a key part of the platform’s collaborative power, allowing the shop floor and front office to stay informed of the latest production information . There is also a well-designed visual dashboard that provides important information to keep production on track. For example, the built-in OEE monitoring makes it easy to see a store’s performance.
“This is a continuous improvement to increase profitability,” Carpenter said. “Objective, contextualized data reports focus on the key areas to achieve this: machine downtime, performance and part quality. Store owners and managers can measure the main causes of downtime in order to eliminate them, or at least minimize them. Once corrective actions are in place, ongoing data collection shows how they are working. »
“With this platform,” Carpenter continued, “we’ve taken the whole topic of store connectivity from something that curious computer geeks love to something that anyone with business sensitivities loves.”
